SURFACE PREPARATION

Note: Do not use over other products or sealers containing stearates.
Surface must be thoroughly cleaned and prepared by appropriate NOFMA accepted sanding methods.
Prior to the coating application, remove all dust from floor and surrounding structures.
NEW FLOORS are ready for coating after the above procedures are completed.
RECOATING existing surfaces must be evaluated and compatibility determined by the applicator.

FINISHING AND APPLICATION

Shake Purethane (Part A) vigorously for 30 seconds prior to adding Purethane Hardener (Part B). Mix 1 part Hardened to 10 parts Purethane finish. DO NOT ADD WATER TO HARDENER. One 12.8-oz. bottle of hardener will activate 1 gallon of finish. To mix finish amounts of less than one gallon, use the 1:10 ratio. Shake the mixture vigorously for 30-45 seconds and then let sit for 5-10 minutes before applying. Pour a 6”-8” wide line of finish along the starting wall. Follow the grain of the wood. Draw a clean, pre-dampened applicator forward. Following the grain of the wood, move the finish toward the opposite wall. Hold the applicator at a “snowplow” angle to maintain a wet edge at all times. (Maintain at least a 3” wet edge at all times to ensure proper coverage rate.) To prevent lapping and dry marks, be sure you are using the recommended coverage of 350-400 sq. ft. per gallon. DO NOT SPREAD TOO THIN. Allow your first coat to dry 2-3 hours. For smoothest results, before applying final coat, buff with a conditioning pad. Always vacuum and tack thoroughly with a slightly water-dampened mop or cloth after abrading. Allow final coat to dry at least 48 hours before use.
